Art gallery PUTTI new home
July 1, 2006
Art galery PUTTI
Mārstaļu iela 16
(now Peitavas iela 5)
In summer of 2006, the gallery moved to the new, specially created premises at 16 Marstalu Street. The room and arrangement of the premises, balanced correlation of proportions of designer items and colour scale are significant interior values that emphasize the key elements – adornments and clothes.
The gallery was originally founded (2000) with the aim of popularizing the performance of Latvian jewellery artists. However, by gaining local and international acclaim, it expanded its vision and added to its collection an array of outstanding jewellery pieces of foreign artists. The artists work in different authoring techniques, creating unique jewellery, representing both contemporary and conceptual trends.
The interior of the gallery and all special furniture (mirrors showcases, counter) is designed by graphic-interior designer Iluta Rode, realized by SIA Chilli, leading by Vilmārs Terbets.
