Ieva`s new black and white art collection is inspired by dramatic events in her life and Ieva`s meeting and interview with Hollywood legend, actress and photographer Jessica Lange earlier this year in Barcelona in connection with her photo exhibition “Unseen”. Ieva interviewed Mrs. Lange for The Danish Art Magazine (Magasinet Kunst).

“I have always been fascinated by Jessica Lange as a great actress, with her unique talent, courage in playing such different and fierce roles. I have seen all her films and theater performances and was happy to discover that Mrs. Lange is also very talented photographer. It was an extraordinary experience to meet and create this unique conversation about art with talented Mrs. Lange.” – Ieva Bluma

The English version of interview with Jessica Lange by Ieva Bluma is available for reading here: https://www.loeildelaphotographie.com/2015/07/02/interview/28439/the-dramatic-imagery-of-jessica-lange-by-ieva-bluma

“When I create, I like to disconnect from reality, people, events and to travel in my imagination as if in a visual universe, to connect with a place where magic happens, this gives me ability to create my visual fantasy between conscious and unconscious. My creative process is instinctive, intense, present and in the moment, and at the same time it is meditative.

In the last years my personal life has been through dramatic challenges, when fundament collapses and one has to wake up in a war and have to be a warrior to fight for freedom and the most important values of life. In this time one really has to illuminate the darkness.” – Ieva Bluma

Exhibition will represent new black and white drawing and painting collection of Ieva Bluma created in 2015, as well two original lithographies made in legendary workshop “Clot, Bramsens and George” in Paris, which now have become Bluma`s classics.

Ieva Bluma is born and educated in Riga, Latvia, but last 18 years she lives and works in Denmark. Ieva have been successfully exhibiting her art in Copenhagen, Italy, NewYork, Riga, London and Stockholm, her art has been sold in private and business collections worldwide. Last time her works were on display in Latvia in her solo exhibition in Agija Sūna Gallery in 2010.
